These Heavy Duties symmetrical side racks carry hard or soft panniers on the Honda Transalp 600, with a balanced layout that loads both sides equally. A bolted rear crossbar links both sides for a stiff, stable platform on rough roads.

I came to find Heavy Duties over the internet while looking for an affordable luggage rack for my Alp. I gotta say: These guys are awesome and trustworthy! They answered all my questions with great patience within days. Shipping to Germany and payment was very easy and without any hassle.
The rack itself is sturdy and indeed “heavy duty”. It looks WAY sturdier than any other rack I found on the web – for a much better price! I’m sure it will last a long, long time. The mounting instructions that I got beforhand by email were very detailed and easy to follow.
Out of the box the rack fit… well: Not “like a glove”, but nearly so :-). There were some minor adjustments to be made (a little bit of tweaking by hand here and there). But overall the installation-process was absolutely no problem – and I’m by far a skilled mechanic (quite the opposite – maybe that’s the reason why “tweaking” was neeeded *smile*). But trust me: If I was able to install the rack, so is everybody else.
I highly recommend Heavy Duties, their shop and their products.

After mounting the HD “apocalyptic” crash guards around the engine, the rear side of my Sumo Transalp 600 looked a little vulnerable, and I wanted to be able to carry various loads, so I ordered the HD pannier rack. I particularly like it’s “widish” symmetrical layout, room enough on the inside for a large exhaust and a tool case or fuel canister. It also doubles as a crash guard to keep your leg from getting caught under the bike when you’re offroading and have a sideways spill. Very sturdy product.
