Yamaha XT660Z Crash Bars Engineered for Real Protection
The Heavy Duties Yamaha XT660Z Crash Bars are built to protect your motorcycle’s most vulnerable components — engine casing, fairings, and radiator — when it matters most. Designed specifically for the Tenere 660 chassis, these bars provide a robust shield that ensures critical parts remain intact during falls or impacts, especially guarding the bike’s high-profile bodywork.
Constructed from high-strength 21.3 mm steel tubing, this protection system is designed to handle heavy impacts while acting as a structural guard. Precision MIG and TIG welding ensures that every set of Yamaha XT660Z Crash Bars delivers exceptional structural strength and resistance to vibration in harsh riding environments. With an overall weight of 6.3kg, these bars offer comprehensive coverage for the bike’s radiator and side panels without compromising its nimble handling.
After fabrication, the bars are sandblasted and finished with an electrostatic black powder coating, delivering long-term corrosion protection against water, mud, and road debris. These Yamaha XT660Z Crash Bars bolt directly to reinforced frame mounting points, ensuring that impact force is transferred safely to the chassis, reducing the risk of costly damage.
Built for Strength, Fit, and Expansion
These Yamaha XT660Z Crash Bars are engineered to provide a secure protection platform while maintaining easy access for routine maintenance. Beyond protection, the bars expand your carrying capacity. By mounting the Heavy Duties Pipers add-ons, you can easily attach luggage straps, fuel or water canisters, or tool tubes. The plastic Pipers also work as replaceable impact buffers, adding another layer of protection to the bars themselves.

I installed these crash bars on my Tenere. It is worth to purchase if you do off road riding. I already tested it few times during low speed falls in deep sand. Crash bars look very solid as no deformation or free play was noticed after falls, only few paint scratches. Installation was described in the manual, however I had to use some force to align attachment holes. It would have been much easier to assemble crash bars with a help of second person.

Had a bigger crash last year. I hit the a tree with the left fork. The crash bars did their job. The bars broke at a few places. But the bike was bearly scratched.
